A new buck showed up! All fall I’ve been getting camera shots of 5 or 6 different mature bucks on my farm. They showed up at different times but have stuck around through fall and into early winter. I checked cameras and did some spot scouting on the farm in preparation for a late muzzleloader hunt and the farm looks great. All those same bucks are still showing up on camera, and a new really nice 12 point showed up as well.
I get asked how it is possible to get so many good buck pictures during the day light? The answer is simple…reduce hunting pressure on the deer and they will move during day light! I keep hunting pressure as low as I can by limiting the amount of hunters I take each year, and by limiting the amount of time I am out on the ground checking cameras and scouting. By limiting the amount of hunting pressure and non-hunting pressure these deer will move all day.
